Introducing...MY KIDS!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I should introduce my kids to you, since, after all, I wouldn't have this blog, this life, or this much joy without them!

Alvin, 2011

Picture
He's our latest and last member--but, as they say, "last, but not least"!
He is a goofy little baby who is always ready with a smile (and a bucket full of drool, I might add!) and brightens up all our days!
The kids love taking turns with him, and the game is to see who can make him laugh the hardest or smile the biggest! (I usually win, ha ha!)
He came into this world at 10.9 lbs--my biggest baby (although others have come close) to date, and as you can see, he has maintained his chubbiness quite well!
My two youngest girls keep him entertained with their songs and games, and when they are not around, he "calls" for them to come! He loves being around people and gets lonely and bored when he's alone!
He is our surprise baby, but now we can't imagine life without him! He completes our family perfectly!

Mandy, 2009

Picture
Mandy is our littlest darling girl! She is full of life, fun, and "Thank yous!" Her 2 favorite toys right now are a stuffed toy lion with a mane whom she has (for OBVIOUS reasons??) named, "Pongo" (the "Daddy dalmatian" in "101 Dalmatians") , and a big stuffed dog whom she has named, "Perdita" (you guessed it--the "Mommy dalmatian"). They are both completely brown and void of any spots whatsoever, and also bigger than her!
According to Mandy, rabbits say, "ribbit-ribbit", and pigs say, "Onk onk!"
When she's in a good mood she loves to give "tisses" (kisses), and will say, "I zub zoo" (I love you) over and over, but if not, she will tell you in no uncertain terms to " 'Top doing dat!"
Books, dollies, play doh,  and eating are some of her favorite things! She also knows when she's tired and will tell you so! (magic usually ends around 12 am though!) She's our doll and we can't imagine life without her!

Kerith, 2006

Picture
Kerith has loved to dance, sing, and be the drama queen ever since she was 6 months old! We call her our "little Shirley Temple". She is all things pink and princessy, frilly and flowery. She's a mother to anything tiny, cuddly and helpless, including her little sister (when she lets her!) .
She loves doing anything creative--drawing, helping with cooking or baking (esp if she gets to snitch!)
A natural leader, we've seen her many times in parks and libraries, with a bunch of kids her age or older, telling them which parts are theirs in her "play" and all the other kids obediently following along and working together nicely!
Sometimes she gets a bit carried away though--one time she told us, "When I look in the mirror, I see beauty!" We'll work on that later, ha!
She's a smart cookie too, and we've had many serious debates with her, including, "No, strawberry ice-cream is not actually a health food even though it has fruits and milk in it!" She's a darling and really something special!

Joshua, 2004

Picture
His aunt once said of him, "Josh needs to do 3 sports a day!" Yep, he's got just that much energy! He's a rocker at soccer and anything that he can run around and play, especially if there's competition involved!
Josh is so affectionate and has a very tender heart. The other day he saw me carrying a big load of laundry, and he came and carried it for me!
He's good at his school work (when he's motivated, naturally) and takes his wii games pretty seriously!
He's not a big talker, but  he always has a "quick quip" to say about things that makes us all laugh!
Even though he hasn't reached his "brawn stage", he's as tough as nails. If he gets hurt, he'll get right back up again without a word. If he ever cries, you know he's really really hurt.
He's just a really great guy and we're so happy to have him around!

Keith,  2002

Picture
Meet our up and coming engineer! Or singer? Or perhaps athlete? Keith is a jack-of-all trades, but his true love is learning, and one of his dreams is to go to M.I.T. one day--you never know!
Keith loves to please, and faithfully comes to give his Mama a good night kiss every night, and I love him for it!
He is not always living on earth with us apparently--ever since he was young he has declared he's from "Planet X"--and "...that's just the way they do things on 'Planet X'", he would tell us! (He used this as a "reason" for why he didn't want to use his spoon to eat with when he was younger!) But when it comes to the care of the 2 dogs, he never forgets to feed them or put them in their beds at night.
He's very diligent with his school, and I can leave him alone to do his bookwork all on his own, knowing he'll complete his tasks well and on time!
Keith is a very bright boy and such a joy to our family and household!

Jodie, 2000

Picture
Books, books and more books--that's Jodie for you. Jodie has a very creative and deep thinking mind. She loves to write--poetry, short novels, notes, diaries.
She is very good with little kids, and after we visit a place, the kids are always asking after her! She helps me with Kerith and Mandy even when I don't ask her for help--taking initiative all on her own!
Making friends is her forte, no matter what the age! She laughs for no reason--sometimes cries for no reason too!
Although not a "scholar" by strict definition, she is good at her school and has a good memory--especially for anything having to do with literature and history!
Jodie is a girl of many dreams and ambitions--actress, dancer, gymnast, writer...so many dreams.
She has plenty of talent and natural drive, and as long as she gets her beauty sleep, I know she'll do great things!  She is a daughter to be proud of!

Shay, 1999

Picture
Shay is my dependable oldest girl. When I ask her to clean something, I know she'll do a good job. When I ask her to do something, I can count on her to follow instructions and do her best.
She is a budding artist and is working hard at improving her skill all on her own, with books, tutorials, and online lessons.
Sometimes tough on the outside, she has a tender heart. After getting to know a little orphan girl one time, she said that when she grew up she wanted to adopt an orphan to give her/him a better life.
She is our family vet--she responds to animals and they respond to her--no matter how big or little.
If she had her way, she would live in the woods with animals have adventures all the time! --She wouldn't even need internet if that were the case, she told me!
She is growing up to be a responsible young lady, and for this we are very grateful!

Terril, 1997

Picture
Terril, the oldest son! There's so much to say about him! He's an aspiring musician--picking up drumming almost single-handedly, as well as guitar.
He is very generous and although a big guy, is a big teddy bear when it comes to his baby sister, or any little child or creature for that matter!
He is learning sports from his dad, and often when Dad is gone, we count on him to do the "big boy" stuff around the house. Although not his favorite thing to do, he willingly helps take out the trash and anything else I ask him to do!
He's always been good at figuring things out, like puzzles, electronics, computers--anything to do with spacial intelligence.
Although he's a more quiet kind of guy, he's got character and inner confidence, and although he's reaching his "rebellious teenage stage", when it comes down to it, he's got a good heart.
He's got a lot of talent as well, and I'm so happy he's growing up to be a fine young man!
