Good news: Daddy was here all weekend! Yay! This means that in the morning, way before any decent rooster would ever dare to crow, the 2 younger girls first got under the covers next to DADDY instead of mommy, and then proceeded to drag daddy out of the bed, one unwilling leg after another--but only after the 2 year old yelled directly IN his ear repeatedly, "IT'S WAKE UP TIME! IT'S WAKE UP TIME!" while the 5 year old simultaneously tickled his ears to speed up the "waking up" process! Whew! What a relief! Thank God for daddy!
It also meant that when any dispute arose I could confidently say with more than a hint of a glimmer in my eye, "Go tell your father about it"! Ah, such a great feeling!
Another awesome thing about having daddy home on the weekends is this: "YOUNG MAN! Your father wants you to come down here and put away your toys RIGHT NOW!" (snicker snicker)
Hurray for daddies!
Besides that, he took the older kids to church, jammed with my oldest son (both of them are musicians), played ball with the boys, did the shopping, cleaned the cars, read the little ones stories, made some amazing meals, and took the older girls shopping.
At home we did painting, drawing, baking, watched our favorite TV shows together, worked on some of the kids' school projects with them, and did our traditional weekend house cleaning (still trying to get the kids as excited about this as me, ahem!)
All in all, it was a great weekend! Here are a few pictures:
